On the 26th (Sat), get in on the family fun at North Pole Colorado Santa’s Workshop and then explore the striking landscape of Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. On the next day, immerse yourself in nature at Mueller State Park, tour the pleasant surroundings at Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, and then go deep underground at Florissant Fossil Quarry.

Getting from Green Mountain Falls to Cañon City by car takes about 1.5 hours. Traveling from Green Mountain Falls in July, things will get somewhat warmer in Cañon City: highs are around 90°F and lows about 63°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Sat) so you can go by car to Monument.
