Part of Colorado's Royal Gorge Region, Cañon City straddles the Arkansas River.

Denver to Cañon City is an approximately 2-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of bus and taxi; or do a combination of train and flight. When traveling from Denver in May, plan for somewhat warmer days in Cañon City, with highs around 72°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 46°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Manitou Springs.

Drive from Cañon City to Manitou Springs in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Cañon City in May, expect Manitou Springs to be slightly colder, temps between 64°F and 38°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Fri) so you can drive back home.
