Colorado Springs

— 3 nights
Stunning Garden of the Gods Park scenery, blue skies and the glory of Pikes Peak-America’s Mountain have attracted visitors to Colorado Springs for more than a century.
Garden of the Gods has been added to your itinerary. Kids will enjoy Penrose Heritage Museum and Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Palmer Park and Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center. And it doesn't end there: take an in-depth tour of U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum, see the interesting displays at May Natural History Museum, appreciate the history behind Will Rogers Memorial Shrine of the Sun, and stroll around Ute Valley Park.

For reviews, maps, traveler tips, and other tourist information, you can read our Colorado Springs day trip planning app.

Denver to Colorado Springs is an approximately 1.5-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or do a combination of train and flight. In May, plan for daily highs up to 68°F, and evening lows to 42°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Sun) early enough to drive back home.
