Colorado Springs — 4 nights

Stunning Garden of the Gods Park scenery, blue skies and the glory of Pikes Peak-America’s Mountain have attracted visitors to Colorado Springs for more than a century.
Explore hidden gems such as Penrose Heritage Museum and Old Homestead House Museum. Explore Colorado Springs' surroundings by going to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument (in Florissant), Cripple Creek (Cripple Creek District Museum, Phantom Canyon Road, &more) and Divide (Mueller State Park & Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center). There's still lots to do: walk around Garden of the Gods, make a trip to Ivywild School, identify plant and animal life at North Cheyenne Canon Park, and get engrossed in the history at U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum.

In September, daily temperatures in Colorado Springs can reach 79°F, while at night they dip to 51°F.
