Stunning Garden of the Gods Park scenery, blue skies and the glory of Pikes Peak-America’s Mountain have attracted visitors to Colorado Springs for more than a century.
Step out of the city life by going to Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center and Hidden Mesa Open Space & Trail. Visit Old Colorado City and Manitou Cliff Dwellings for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to Cherry Creek State Park (in Aurora), Horsethief Falls (in Divide) and Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum (in Pueblo). There's still lots to do: brush up on your military savvy at National Museum of World War II Aviation, walk around Garden of the Gods, pause for some serene contemplation at St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral, and deepen your understanding at United States Air Force Academy.

For other places to visit, where to stay, traveler tips, and tourist information, read our Colorado Springs driving holiday planner.

Expect a daytime high around 45°F in December, and nighttime lows around 18°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
