Colorado Springs — 4 nights

Stunning Garden of the Gods Park scenery, blue skies and the glory of Pikes Peak-America’s Mountain have attracted visitors to Colorado Springs for more than a century. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument and Fox Run Regional Park. Get out of town with these interesting Colorado Springs side-trips: Cripple Creek (Outlaw and Lawmen Jail Museum & Shelf Rd) and Divide (Mueller State Park & Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Penrose Heritage Museum, trek along Palmer Park, pause for some photo ops at Will Rogers Memorial Shrine of the Sun, and steep yourself in history at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site.
