6 days in Pikes Peak Region Itinerary

Stunning Garden of the Gods Park scenery, blue skies and the glory of Pikes Peak-America’s Mountain have attracted visitors to Colorado Springs for more than a century.

Bring the kids along to Garden of the Gods and North Cheyenne Canon Park. Step out of the city life by going to Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center and Climbing Tours. When in Colorado Springs, make a side trip to see Mueller State Park in Divide, approximately Divide away. There's still lots to do: learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, get in on the family fun at North Pole Colorado Santa’s Workshop, hike along Seven Bridges Trail, and stroll through Palmer Park.

New York City to Colorado Springs is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from New York City to Colorado Springs, you'll gain 2 hours due to the time zone difference. Traveling from New York City in July, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be a bit cooler in Colorado Springs, with lows of 58°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Cañon City.

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park has been added to your itinerary. On the 5th (Wed), trek along Tunnel Drive, take in the views from Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, and then let the river carry you with a rafting and tubing tour.

Traveling by car from Colorado Springs to Cañon City takes an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In July in Cañon City, expect temperatures between 90°F during the day and 63°F at night. On the 6th (Thu), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can fly back home.
