Manitou Springs' main street was once a trail that led directly to the base of Pike's Peak.

Kansas City to Manitou Springs is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Kansas City to Manitou Springs, you'll gain 1 hour due to the time zone difference. When traveling from Kansas City in March, plan for slightly colder days in Manitou Springs, with highs around 53°F, while nights are much colder with lows around 24°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Cañon City.
