  • This fantastic museum is a combination of natural history and regional history. They have a beautifully displayed mineral selection and several large dinosaur bones. There is an Americana Room devoted to veterans. You actually should allow a couple of hours to go through here and it is a free museum. I highly recommend.
  • I am only an occasional visitor to the Regional Museum and Historical Center. Having lived in Cañon City for 50 years now I can say a few things: The staff is very helpful. The history center is responsive to email and phone requests about local history. They maintain well organized archives. The small but, dedicated staff is protective of the artifacts and archives, but share and display them whenever possible. The director has interesting articles in our newspaper that I also enjoy reading. Several times during the year they refresh theme displays about periods in Cañon City and Fremont County history. The history center also works with teachers in the schools to reach our students with programs. Mike Geesaman
