Mount up and let Academy Riding Stables show you the big red rock formations of the 566 ha (1,400 acre) Garden of the Gods park. A real cowboy will guide you past formations, such as Sleeping Giant, Kissing Camels, and Siamese Twins, giving you the view of the landscape that pioneers had more than a century ago. Tours vary in length and are open to children and adults of all riding levels. The operation also provides helmets if you'd like, although they are optional. Our Colorado Springs online vacation planner makes visiting Academy Riding Stables and other Colorado Springs attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Very good tour. My guide was very informative and was always checking on our group to make sure we were doing ok.

Even though i was cold and miserable by the end, I still had a great time. The views were amazing and you can tell the horses were well cared for. Staff was so fun and friendly!

Academy Riding Stables has 90 horses and tack. There are many wranglers helping. They had a riding block to use to mount the horses and stirrups were adjusted appropriately. Shortly after leaving the corral a wrangle made sure the cinch was secure. We had a delightful 2 hour ride through the Garden of the Gods. It's hilly and rocky. The horses were essentially well behaved. Lexi was our wrangler and she was knowledgeable about the Garden's history and pointed out many rock formations to us. It was an enjoyable ride and the weather was perfect.
We had so much fun on the 2 hour trail ride. Our guides Logan and Jesse were knowledgeable and had great personalities. They pointed out tourist spots, but they also included personal favorites along the way. Everyone at the stable was funny but put safety first. The 2 hour ride was for more intermediate to advanced riders, but the 1 hour ride group did have a few kids included. The wranglers were patient and thorough when explaining to the kids and adults how to ride a horse, how to get on and off, and how to steer. Overall, we had an amazing experience, and we would definitely go again tomorrow!
