Red Rock Canyon Open Space provides striking scenery for hiking, jogging, climbing, and mountain biking. Set inside the city, the park's towering red rocks were formed from sandstone into a series of canyons. Trails provide ample paths for hiking and exploring, usually starting among shady bluffs and working up toward views of the park and town. If you enjoy rock climbing, try your hand at any of more than 80 established climbs mapped out through the canyon and park. Climbers must register with the Garden of the Gods visitor center. If you like, bring a meal to eat in the wheelchair-accessible picnic grounds. This was a relatively quiet place. We did this one afternoon in July when it was cloudy. Very pleasant walking, and there were quite a few good places to climb on the rocks to get a better view.

Always a great place for a hike! Very beautiful like Garden of the Gods without all the extra people.

Loved this hike! Red rocks were gorgeous and the lakes we passed were stunning! There are multiple paths you can take. Some are easier some are more advanced. I’m 24 weeks pregnant and didn’t have any troubles on the paths I took (mostly intermediate). I saw a couple of people with young baby’s even a stroller. Definitely recommend this trail!

In my opinion one of the most beautiful parks / open spaces in Colorado Springs.. and almost no tourists! Extraordinary beautiful views on the red mountains, lush green trees, clean and fun hiking trails, dog friendly! So many adorable corners and colors! I can’t get enough of this park! 😍
