As you're driving toward this museum and military campus, the iconic accordion-shaped chapel will help you spot United States Air Force Academy. The campus, in a scenic area filled with Rocky Mountain fresh air, covers 7,500 hectares (18,500 acres) and is the place U.S. Air Force cadets start out. In addition to the museum and chapel, you can visit the athletic center, stadium, cadet field house, and more. All tours are self-guided. Plan to see United States Air Force Academy and other attractions that appeal to you using our Colorado Springs trip site.

What an impressive place! Not just the beauty and the organization of it, but the respect for the academy and the respect for the service is present. The size of the grounds is immense, and we only stayed on the roads, not having time to go on any of the walking paths. Even though the chapel is currently closed, we still learned a lot through the visitor's center, and the video they showed was informative as well. Would have loved to have had more time here.
