Travel back in time and learn about marine reptiles at Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center. The museum offers answers to hundreds of questions about fossil skeletons on display, including one of the largest Tylosaurs ever discovered and the most complete Pteranodon specimen. Vibrant graphics will help you visualize the environments in which these prehistoric animals lived, while at a working fossil laboratory you can see recently excavated fossils being restored. Children will love the play area, tactile exhibits, and hands-on activities. The center boasts the largest dinosaur gift shop in the region. Amazing showcase! We loved every second of the place, and Danny - our tour guide - was knowledgeable and kind, even dealing with our random interjections and tangents hahaha. There are so many large and beautiful specimens here, along with a cleaning lab with active cleanings in progress - My fiance and I spent a solid 3 hours enjoying the tour and museum. You can even touch real dinosaur bones here! 10/10 would come back with my kiddo - it was 100% worth it!

So many cool things to see in one visit! We learned so much and enjoyed hearing about the latest findings and discoveries in this still emerging field. There is a nice gift shop at the end and the guides are so knowledgeable; we really would want to schedule a private tour to deep dive into specific topics. The drive to Woodland Park is also so beautiful. Take your time to enjoy the backside views of Pikes Peak as well. We will be back again!
